Cookie 4: Holiday Snowball Cookies
My favorite holiday cookies my mom made growing up were Mexican Wedding Cake cookies. What's not to love? There is butter, sugar, and more sugar. I have added chocolate chips to these cookies, because why not?
The recipe for this cookie came from the JOY of cooking.
Ingredients:
1 pound (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup powered sugar, 1/3 set aside for topping
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 cups all purpose flour
1 cup of chocolate holiday morsels
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Beat the butter, sugar, vanilla, and salt until creamy.
- Gradually add the flour to the mixture.
- Stir in the holiday morsels.
- Form the dough into 1 inch balls and place on the pan.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes.
- Sift the 1/3 cup of powdered sugar over the cookies.
- Nom, Nom!
