Day 2 Cookie: Reese's Peanut Butter Temptations


Some recipes you find online, some come to you in a dream, some you find on the back of a bag of your favorite candy. Baking for me is a way to time travel, especially during the Holiday season. Growing up my favorite cookies made by my Nana were Peanut Butter Blossoms. I remember craving them in college and calling her for the recipe.

A few years ago I discovered the recipe for Reese's Peanut Temptations. I couldn't wait to make them for Nana and share them with her. These cookies are delicious and need to be shared with everyone. They are hands down my favorite cookie and not just because it is the perfect combination of peanut butter and chocolate. These cookies are my Nana Cookies and every time I make them I think of her.

Reese's Peanut Butter Temptations-

Ingredients:



  1. About 40 REESE'S Peanut Butter Cup Miniatures
  2. 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
  3. 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  4. 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  5. 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  6. 1 egg
  7. 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  8. 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  9. 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
  10. 1/2 teaspoon salt

Directions:


  1. Heat oven to 375 degrees
  2. Remove wrappers from candies and place in separate bowl.
  3. Line mini muffin tin with mini paper bake cups.
  4. Beat butter, peanut butter, and sugars until creamy. 
  5. Add egg and vanilla and beat until mixed.
  6. In a separate bowl whisk the dry ingredients together (flour, baking soda, salt).
  7. Add dry ingredients 1/4 cup at a time and beat until mixed.
  8. Add 1/4 cup of sugar to small bowl.
  9. Form the dough into 1 inch balls, roll into sugar, and place into muffin cup.
  10. Bake 10-12 minutes.
  11. Immediately press peanut butter cup in the center of each cookie.
  12. NOM, NOM!
